At 34, I had emergency surgery – the result of yo-yo dieting , trying to make my body “acceptable.” It nearly killed me.
I’m Amy Long! Self-Love & Pleasure Coach, and an irreverent misfit with a big heart. I was born with a gift of gab. Loud. Expressive. Never met a short story I couldn’t make longer. It’s in my name after all.
I was taught early that those parts of me were wrong. My voice was too much. My body was wrong. Being seen and heard came with consequences. “Who do you think you are?” I spent decades shrinking myself. Second-guessing myself. Apologizing for who I was.
There was never a damn thing wrong with me.
And all the while, I was becoming a life coach, I began my professional coach training with Coach U in 2001, learning to see myself and the people I coach as whole and capable. The work grew from there: body image, human sexuality, sexual wellness & education, all fueled by a playful, shameless curiosity about what makes us feel most alive.
